Brilliant
As far as I'm concerned, this is the best intensive protein treatment on the market. If your hair is damaged, you can do no better than Apoghee. However, the second Apoghee step is not enough moisture for me so I use a hydrating mask (without protein) instead. That said, follow the Apoghee directions exactly and your hair will be silky and soft and in much better condition. Yes, it's stinky, but that's the real protein in it. It does fade hair color somewhat, so it's best to use it before you color. Follow it with a very nourishing mask (with heat) and your hair will be in a much healthier state. Do the mask once a week but do Apoghee no more than every 4-6 weeks. Too much protein can make hair brittle. I highly recommend Apoghee. I've been using it every 6-8 weeks for more than 20 years. It's a holy grail product for me and I've recommended it to everyone I know. There's simply nothing better for damaged hair.
Effective, inexpensive and EASY!
After repeated coloring, bleaching, and keratin treatments, my hair was breaking/tangling/splitting when dry and felt squishy when wet -- indications that my hair needed a protein treatment. Having used other protein treatments ranging from $20 to $150, I am blown away with the results. My hair feels like my hair again, shinier, less tangled and significantly softer. Unlike the numerous negative comments, I found the entire process easy (40 minutes in total), didn't detect any offensive odor, and appreciate the marked improvement to my hair. If your hair needs protein, this definitely worth a try -- thanks, Aphogee.
but that smell tho...
Yes it's a protein treatment. Yes it works if you need protein. BUT THAT SMELL THOUGH...UGH!!! I can't get over it. Makes me physically ill. I'll stick to Joico Kpak.
