Our story
From a garage in 1997 to 47 countries.
SleekShop started because the products found in salons were hard for everyone else to obtain. Close to 30 years later that is still the job: the real product, in stock, shipped fast from a team that cares.
- 1997
A garage and one order a month
Andrew Ngo starts SleekShop as a high-school junior. He grew up in his mother’s salon and was running its inventory, sales and customer service by 15, and saw how hard it was for everyday customers to get the products salons use.
- 2000s
Several orders a day
Andrew grows the store while finishing an economics degree at UC Irvine. The catalog widens from hair color into hair care, skin, nails and more, one brand at a time.
- Sleekhair to SleekShop
The name changed. The warehouse and the people didn’t.
The store took a name that covers everything it carries today. Same family-owned company, same California warehouse, same people answering the phone.
