What it is:
The "Sensitive" is a softer bristle version of the "Handy Bristle" brush. It is best suited for very fine or thinning hair of medium to very-long length.
What it does:
Its 6 rings of gentle pure boar bristle tufts are set in a pneumatic rubber cushion that regulates the penetration of each tuft to gently, but effectively, condition the hair and scalp.
What else you need to know:
Overall size is 8 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches. To keep your brush in tip-top shape a cleaner brush is included, as well as complete use and care instructions. *Note: The Sensitive's bristles are rather soft, so unless your hair is very fine and thin, stiffer bristles will be required to reach down to your scalp. Consider a Pure Bristle model if your hair is of fine to normal thickness. If your hair is described as "fine, but a lot of it", a Bristle & Nylon model is recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Mason Pearson SB3 Handy Size features genuine boar bristles hand-tied into a wooden handle, designed specifically for sensitive scalps. The bristles are naturally tapered and flexibile, which reduces tension and tugging compared to synthetic or nylon brushes. The smaller handy size provides better control and precision for detailed brushing.
Yes, the SB3 Handy Size is ideal for fine and thin hair. The boar bristles gently distribute natural scalp oils throughout the hair shaft without causing breakage. The flexible bristle design works well with delicate hair textures, and the handy size allows for precise, section-by-section brushing that won't weigh down finer strands.
Remove loose hair after each use by running your fingers through the bristles. Weekly, soak the brush in warm water with mild shampoo for 5-10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cool water. Allow it to air dry bristles-down on a clean towel. Avoid excessive heat and moisture around the wooden handle, and never use harsh chemicals or boiling water, as this can damage the natural bristles and wood.
